Cliff House Hotel in Ardmore, Co. Waterford has been awarded a Michelin Star. The hotel is owned by Barry O’Callaghan, chief executive of EMPG, the educational publishing group which is currently being restructured,

Dutch-born head chef Martijn Kajuiter has based his menu on locally-produced produce including fish and game.

Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud retains its two stars while one star status is retained by Chapter One, L’Ecrivain and Bon Appetit in Dublin and Deanes in Belfast.
