Pallas Foods, the Limerick distribution company has won a €20m contract with Sodexo Ireland.The company has agreed a three-year deal to distribute grocery and frozen-food products to Sodexo's 200 site locations in the Republic and the North.

Pallas Foods already distributes meat and speciality products, mainly from local Irish producers, for Sodexo. The company estimates that 12,000 deliveries annually, equating to 48 tonnes of carbon dioxide, will be removed from the current logistics network as a result.

Chris Johnston, logistics director for Sodexo, was pleased to have completed the contract with Pallas. 'This move means we are able to support our sustainability strategy, the 'Better Tomorrow Plan', by reinforcing our commitment to local businesses and products in Ireland', he said.
