The Elm Tree in Glounthaune, Co Cork, was named overall winner at the Licensing World Bar Awards in Dublin. Situated just 10 minutes from Cork city, The Elm Tree also won the Campari Style Bar Award. The Bulman Bar in Kinsale, Co Cork, was named Ireland’s leading tourist pub, after it claimed the hotly contested Fáilte Ireland Tourist Bar Award – a pub with rich local heritage and an idyllic location, it rests just 10 metres from the Atlantic Ocean and overlooks Charles Fort at the sourthern end of the Village of Summer Cove. Solas Bar of Dublin’s Wexford Street won the City Bar award, Venu Brasserie abd Bar took the Cocktail Bar Award and The Wright Venue in Swords won the Cocktail Bar Award. Wrights Angler’s Rest in Chalepizod, Dublin 20, was named winner of the Bar Food Award while Ely Bar & Brasserie in the IFSC, Dublin 1, took home the Wine Award. The Mint Bar at The Westin Hotel, Dublin 2, was named the country’s leading hotel bar. Gibney’s Off Licence of Malahide, Co Dublin, was named Ireland’s best pub off licence. Ryan’s Bar of Navan, Co Meath, was named Ireland’s best local pub and Dessie O’Brien’s Pub in Kilrickle, Co Galway, was named Ireland’s best country pub while The Quays Bar in Galway was awarded the Music Bar Award.
