Maureen Gelletlie Dies at 91 Print E-mail

Maureen Gelletlie, who has died at the age of 91 was one of the best-known and colourful of Irish hoteliers. She ran Hunters Hotel in Newrath Bridge, near Rathnew in a highly personalised manner, devoting attention to the gardens, the period decor and traditional hospitality.

Hunters is located in a building dating from 1720 and has been a hotel since 1820. It has been in the Gelletlie family for five generations.

The late Maureen Gelletlie was pre-deceased by her husband Cecil and is survived by daughters Joan, Helen, Ruth and  sons  Richard and Tom.

 Removal this (Friday) evening to the Church of The Most Holy Rosary, Ashford, Co. Wicklow arriving for reception prayers at 7 o'clock Funeral Mass tomorrow (Saturday) at 10 o'c, followed by burial at Nun's Cross Churchyard, Killiskey, Ashford. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to the Irish Cancer Society.May she rest in peace.
