The next Food Market at Macreddin Village, Co Wicklow, which takes place at the Brooklodge Hotel on Sunday 4th July from 12.00 noon, will have an authentic Italian tone to the event.  On that day, Macreddin Village will play host to the Mayor and to artisan producers of Armento in Southern Italy as well as winemakers from Agricoltori de Geographico Chianti and Castello Banfi, Montalcino in Tuscany.

Produce from the artisan farmers and organic producers, sourced from the local countryside surrounding Armento will set up their Italian Farmers Market beside the Irish Farmers Market – a fabulous mixture of Irish raw milk cheeses side by side with traditional Italian dishes including grilled organic vegetables with cured meats, olives and mozzarella, salsiccia sausage and oyster mushroom.  Wonderful food to be enjoyed with selected Italian wines specially chosen to match the food by the winemakers who will also explain the process involved in creating the wines.

And, look out for ‘Hortense’, a Citroen delivery van from the 1970s, which has been lovingly customised into a travelling wine bar by Febvre Wines, and from which the quality Italian wines will be served.
