TV chat show veteran, Michael Parkinson, is to headline the West Cork Literary Festival this summer. The broadcaster, who has interviewed everyone from Muhammad Ali to Billy Connolly, will discuss his remarkable career as part of a live on-stage public interview with Miriam O’Callaghan. Mr Parkinson was hoping to spend a few days in West Cork, and maybe squeeze in a round or two of golf. Mr Parkinson, 77, first began working in TV as a current affairs producer at Granada Television. But it was his own chat show, Parkinson, for which he is best known.
