A group of German journalists, who write for leading newspapers and magazines, visited Dublin to enjoy what Temple Bar TradFest. Now in its seventh year Temple Bar TradFest is a firm favourite on the festival calendar and brings to Dublin City Centre a real celebration of Irish music and culture each January. Rory McCarthy, Festivals and Events, Fáilte Ireland, said: “We firmly believe that our traditional Irish music, song and dance product is among the best in the world and, it is important that we fully promote what is available by assisting these German journalists in showcasing what Ireland has to offer. TradFest has long been renowned for showcasing some of the best of Irish music talent and will certainly encourage and help maintain Ireland’s reputation as a destination for high quality traditional Irish music at home and abroad. Tradfest has grown into one of Ireland’s most exciting traditional events and is now a high point in Dublin’s busy tourism calendar. The 2012 Tradfest programme was jam packed with exciting events including music stages and markets on the street, concerts in some of Dublin’s best historic buildings and a celebration of the Dubliner’s 50th anniversary.
